My friend and I started a new scrapbooking blog. The Scrap Yard. We are having a weekly scrap challenge. We are going to pick a theme and/or sketch and that is what the challenge will be. So come check us out

Ok so on a sad note. I am SO mad at my sister lately that I've deleted her as a friend off facebook. I have enough issues with my self image, depression, or just being down in the dumps that I've decided I don't need to listen to all her "poor me" ranting and raving. If it ain't one thing its another with her. Poor me my kids are sick. Poor me my husband is a trucker and never home. Poor me I live in a shit hole. Poor me I'm home with two bratty kids. Poor me I live in 'this' town. LIKE COME ON! She is only in that position because of herself. And you know what makes her complain more.....is that she KNOWS that she is in this position because of herself. AHH! so I am no longer talking to her....for now.... Ok so I have that out...I feel BETTER...

bad blogger

Ok so I admit it. I'm a bad blogger. I am totally lazy and lack the discipline to keep a blog going. Yet some how here it is. I haven't taken any pictures in the last few days. We have been busy. Hubby is home for a few days so we have been just chillin' or out buying stuff either for his truck or for our vacation. I'm going to wait until at least valentines day weekend!! I am going to do my best for the next 3 weeks to NOT STRAY away from my eating. Also to do a min of 30 mins on the treadmill everyday. Starting monday of course....

I've lost my creative edge the last few days. AGAIN! I am in desperate need to make my sister a baby blanket. Baby #3 is due in less then 8 weeks. I want to make something special for this one. Like a sweater and hat! and a blanket and maybe a few toys. I not a great Aunt....Love my niece and nephew but I don't even know them.... sucks living 10 hours away.

Tempt My Tummy Tuesday!

Welcome to our first Tempt My Tummy Tuesday's! Thanks {mis}adventures

for the great name. I was having a brain fart. So this week in preparation for Christmas I

thought I would make something Christmasy. What better then shortbread. And I must say they turned out AWESOME! Here we go!

Granny's Shortbread (yes, this is a family recipe.)

1 cup cornstartch

1 cup icing sugar

2 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

1lb butter

candied cherries(cut in half)

Preheat oven to 350*F. In a large bowl beat butter until smooth. Then add the remaining ingredients. WARNING: turn beaters on slow or you will be covered in flour, icing sugar, and cornstarch. Mix well. It may take a few minutes to get it mixed together well. It might feel sticky. If it does add a small amount of flour until it no longer feels sticky and is able to be rolled into balls.

Roll the dough into small balls and place on cookie sheet. Place half a candied cherry into the center of the ball and press down slightly.

Place cookies in the oven and bake for about 8-10 mins. Please check them regularly so they don't burn. Back until lightly brown on the edges.

Let cookies sit on the cookie sheet for a few minutes so they don't crumble when taken off. ENJOY! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

A day with friends

We had some friends come over for dinner and to help install a few things. New screen door. New above the stove microwave/range. Both look awesome! We have a great dinner too. Steaks, corn on the cob, home made potatoe salad, and for dessert home made apple pie!!! YUM!

After dinner we took the kids for a little walk and found some horses near where we live. Very tame and friendly. So we let the kids feed them some grass. So my first picture is of them. "sharing" the grass. LOL.

When we got back from our walk I walked around and checked out my flowers and found that my clematis was almost blooming. Late but better late then never. And there was a dragon fly on it so my second picture is of a dragon fly.
